Community standards
The way we show up.
We're building a community rooted in trust, safety, and York pride. These guidelines keep yuMeet positive for everyone.
Be Authentic
yuMeet is for verified students over 18. Use your real name and an accurate profile. Faking your age, identity, or program is grounds for permanent removal.
Respect the Community
Treat every student with respect. We have zero tolerance for harassment, hate speech, bullying, or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or orientation.
Safety First
When using the Marketplace or meeting up, always prioritise safety. Meet in public campus locations like Vari Hall or Scott Library, and let a friend know your plans.
No Spam or Scams
Do not use yuMeet for unauthorized commercial promotion, spamming, or fraudulent activities. Our Marketplace is for peer-to-peer student exchange only.
Keep it Legal
Do not post content that promotes illegal activities, violence, or substance abuse. We comply with all local laws and university regulations.
Reporting a violation
Every post, comment, listing, message and profile has a report action in the app. A report goes straight into our moderation queue, so it is the fastest way to raise something with us. You can email contact@yumeet.ca as well, and we will treat it as a report.
